Red Sox activate Andrew Benintendi from disabled list
Boston Red Sox outfielder Andrew Benintendi has been activated from the 15-day disabled list.
Benintendi is expected to return to the starting lineup on Wednesday for the Red Sox series finale versus the visiting Baltimore Orioles. He will be available off the bench Tuesday. The 22-year-old outfielder ended up missing just three weeks after suffering what looked to be a pretty serious left knee sprain.
Benintendi is slashing .324/.365/.485 in 74 plate appearances this season. He made his big league debut on August 2 and has hit one home run, stolen one base and recorded a .362 wOBA with an .850 OPS.
