Tigers' Nick Castellanos (hand) takes batting practice
Detroit Tigers third baseman Nick Castellanos (hand) took batting practice Monday.
This was Castellanos' first time taking batting practice since going on the disabled list in early August because of a fractured left hand. He previously stated that was hopeful to return as soon as September 18, and the next couple of days should reveal how realistic that plan is. Castellanos is slashing .286/.331/.500 in 432 plate appearances this season.
Castellanos' 18 home runs, .214 ISO and .350 wOBA this year are all career-bests. We currently project him to hit two more taters and post a .794 OPS over the rest of the season.
