Boston Red Sox outfielder Andrew Benintendi (knee) could be activated on Wednesday.
On Monday, Benintendi participated in sliding drills and will face live pitching during a simulated game on Tuesday. Pending any setbacks, the Red Sox will then bring him back. A knee injury has kept Benintendi out since August 24. He's slashing .324/.365/.485 in 74 plate appearances this season.
Benintendi made his big league debut on August 2 and has hit one home run, stolen one base and recorded a .362 wOBA. We currently project him to bat. 250 with a .708 OPS over the remaining course of the season (nine plate appearances).
