Lucas Duda (back) taking live batting practice for Mets Saturday
New York Mets first baseman Lucas Duda (back) will take live batting practice on Saturday.
Duda has been sidelined since late May with a stress fracture in his back. He suffered a setback in early August, shutting him down for a month, but things have been going well in his recovery. The Mets are optimistic the 30-year-old first baseman could return by the end of the month.
Duda is slashing just .231/.297/.431 with a .312 wOBA in 145 plate appearances this season, but had been driving the ball well, evidenced by seven home runs and a .200 ISO.
