Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Maikel Franco (thumb) remains out of the starting lineup Friday against the Washington Nationals.
Franco aggravated a right thumb injury on Tuesday and has not played since. However, the Phillies are hopeful that he'll be available off the bench. Franco remains day-to-day for now. Andres Blanco will start again at third base on Friday. Franco is slashing .246/.298/.423 in 547 plate appearances this year.
Franco owns a .304 wOBA -- which is below league average (.319) -- this season, but has hit 22 home runs. We project him to hit three more home runs and post a .722 OPS over the remaining course of the year.
