Richard fanned eight and walked two while scattering six hits in the outing. He's surrendered just three runs in his last 25 frames. Next up is a road matchup with the San Francisco Giants.
The 32-year-old southpaw owns a career-best 2.78 ERA across 45 1/3 innings of work this season for both the Padres and Chicago Cubs. He has also recorded a 1.59 WHIP and 16.3 strikeout percentage on the year.
