Brian McCann swats two solo homers, Yankees topple Tampa Bay
New York Yankees catcher Brian McCann homered twice and had three hits in Thursday's win over the Tampa Bay Rays.
McCann tormented Rays starter Alex Cobb Thursday night, swatting his first dinger in the second inning and adding another in the fourth. After totaling just four home runs in July and August (174 plate appearances), the 32-year-old catcher now has three taters in his past three contests (12 plate appearances).
For the season, McCann has 19 home runs and 55 RBI's overall, slashing .240/.333/.420 in 111 games (435 plate appearances).
