Astros' Dallas Keuchel suffered no tear in shoulder
Houston Astros pitcher Dallas Keuchel's medical examination of his left shoulder inflammation did not reveal any tears or structural damage.
Keuchel was originally scheduled to pitch this past Friday, but the shoulder inflammation pushed it back to Tuesday, and he wound up being scratched from that contest as well. No timetable currently exists for his return, but the absence of any structural damage is a positive sign.
Keuchel has recorded a 4.55 ERA across 168 innings pitched this season. He owns a 20.5 percent strikeout rate, but both of those numbers are far from his 2.48 ERA and 23.7 strikeout percentage from last year's campaign (232 innings).
