Rays' Kevin Kiermaier homers, drives in three to down Orioles
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier finished 3-for-4 with three RBI's in the Rays' 7-6 victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday.
Kiermaier kicked off the game's scoring by launching a solo home run in the bottom of the first inning. He followed that up with a two-run single coming during the bottom of the fourth inning. Kiermaier also walked in the sixth inning before adding another single in the eighth inning. He's on an 11-game hit streak and has improved his season batting line to .240/.322/.408 in 329 plate appearances.
Kiermaier's nine home runs are one shy of tying his career-high and he's stolen 16 bases this year. His .307 wOBA is below league average (.318), however. We project Kiermaier to hit one more tater, steal two more bases and post a weak .681 OPS over the remaining course of the season.
