Giants resting several starters against Rockies
San Francisco Giants first baseman Brandon Belt, outfielder Denard Span and second baseman Joe Panik are all absent from the starting lineup Tuesday against the Colorado Rockies.
Buster Posey will start at first base, Trevor Brown will be behind the dish, Gorkys Hernandez will man center field and Kelby Tomlinson will play second base on Tuesday.
Belt owns a .363 wOBA this season, just below his career-best mark of .365. After posting a combined .331 wOBA in 361 games with the Washington Nationals, Span has seen his wOBA fall to .309 in his first year in San Francisco. Panik has struggled this season as well, posting a .310 wOBA that is below league average (.318).
