Cubs activate Hector Rondon (triceps) off disabled list
The Chicago Cubs activated reliever Hector Rondon from the 15-day disabled list.
A strain in his right triceps kept Rondon out for three weeks. The 28 year-old setup man returns to an impressive 2.47 ERA and 31.1 strikeout percentage (league average is 20.1 percent) in 43 2/3 innings this season.
Rondon's 2.80 xFIP is higher than his ERA, but still ranks 14th best among relievers, while his 3.7 walk percentage is seventh-best. We project him to record a 3.27 ERA and a 0.91 WHIP over the remaining course of the season.
