Pirates giving Starling Marte the night off
Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Starling Marte is getting the night off Tuesday against the St. Louis Cardinals.
This seems to be just a routine day off for Marte. Gregory Polanco will man left field and Matt Joyce gets the start in right field on Tuesday. Marte is slashing .311/.362/.457 in 526 plate appearances this season.
Marte's power has fallen off slightly this season -- he has 9 home runs and a .146 ISO -- but has stolen a career-high 47 bases and owns a .351 wOBA. We project him to hit two more taters, steal five more bases and post a .749 OPS over the rest of the year.
