Carlos Gonzalez crushes grand slam, Rockies roll over Giants

Colorado Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez doubled and ripped a grand slam in Monday's win over the San Francisco Giants.

What It Means:

The grand slam accounted for four of the Rockies' six runs in the bottom of the third inning. It wound up being the only half inning in the contest that saw any scoring action, which is a pretty rare feat at Coors Field. This was just the second home run for Gonzalez in his last 23 contests (94 plate appearances).

Gonzalez now owns a .301/.353/.532 slash with a .372 wOBA in 532 total plate appearances this season. He's tallied 25 taters and 88 RBI's, contributing to a .230 ISO.
