Cameron Maybin absent from Tigers' Sunday lineup
Detroit Tigers centerfielder Cameron Maybin (thumb) remains out of Detroit's lineup Sunday against the Kansas City Royals.
Maybin has missed almost a week with a jammed thumb that he suffered while sliding into a base this past Monday. He remains day-to-day for now, as Tyler Collins is getting another start in centerfield on Sunday. He is batting seventh against Edinson Volquez.
Maybin is having a monster year, slashing .329/.401/.416 through 289 plate appearances, with a .360 wOBA that he has only topped once (36 plate appearances in 2008) during his 10 seasons in the majors.
