San Diego Padres outfielder Jon Jay (forearm) took batting practice Friday.
After being sidelined since June 19 with a fractured right forearm, Jay is nearing a return to game action. He's slashing .296/.345/.407 in 290 plate appearances this season.
Jay posted a .328 wOBA and a .111 ISO this year, which are both above his career averages. We currently project him to hit .257 with a .611 OPS over the remaining course of the season.
