Tigers' Cameron Maybin (thumb) remains out of lineup Friday
Detroit Tigers outfielder Cameron Maybin (thumb) remains out of the starting lineup Friday against the Kansas City Royals.
Maybin jammed his thumb attempting to steal a base on Monday and hasn't played since. X-rays and an MRI both came back clean, but Maybin is obviously still sore. JaCoby Jones -- who has just two big league games under his belt -- will man center field on Friday.
Maybin is having a career-year at the plate, slashing .329/.401/.416 with 14 stolen bases and a .360 wOBA. We project him to struggle over the remaining course of the season, hitting .254 with just a .696 OPS.
