Rangers' Jeremy Jeffress won't be suspended for DWI
Texas Rangers relief pitcher Jeremy Jeffress will not be suspended following his arrest on suspicion of DWI over the weekend, reports Yahoo Sports' Jeff Passan.
According to reports, the MLB gave Jeffress the option between serving a suspension or spending time in a rehab clinic. He opted for the rehab stay and is expected to be there about a month. Passan added that Jeffress could possibly return for a postseason run. Jake Diekman is expected to take care of setup duties for the Rangers moving forward.
The 28-year-old reliever owns a 2.52 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 18.1 strikeout percentage across 53 2/3 innings of work this season for both the Rangers and Milwaukee Brewers.
