Denard Span (neck) not in the Giants' lineup Wednesday
San Francisco Giants center fielder Denard Span (neck) is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Span was forced out of Tuesday's game with neck stiffness, and there is still no indication as to how much time he might miss. Gorkys Hernandez will bat eighth and start in center field on Wednesday for the Giants.
Span has been having a bit of a rough year from the dish, slashing .275/.337/.391 through 537 plate appearances, with a .318 wOBA that is well below his career average.
