Nelson Cruz (hand) sitting again as Seattle takes on Texas
Seattle Mariners outfielder Nelson Cruz (hand) is out again Wednesday.
It remains unclear when Cruz might return, as he is dealing with a nerve issue in his left hand and also experienced some discomfort in his swings Sunday and Monday. Franklin Gutierrez is batting cleanup as the designated hitter for Seattle in Wednesday's matchup with the Texas Rangers.
Despite a recent slump and some recurring back spasms throughout the season, Cruz has had another incredible campaign in 2016. He's slashing a strong .280/.360/.526 in 545 plate appearances, with 32 home runs and a .373 wOBA.
