Ivan Nova (hamstring) on track to make next start for Pirates
Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Ivan Nova (hamstring) is on track to take his next turn in the starting rotation.
Nova claims he's felt steady improvement over the past couple of days after experiencing some discomfort in his left hamstring. The ailment caused him to exit Sunday's outing against the Milwaukee Brewers, and his next scheduled start will be a home date versus the same squad. Nova has recorded a 2.87 ERA, 0.989 WHIP and 18.2 strikeout percentage across 31 1/3 innings (five starts) since Pittsburgh acquired him in a trade with the New York Yankees.
On the season, Nova has twirled a 4.41 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 17.9 strikeout percentage across 128 2/3 innings of work.
