New York Mets second baseman Neil Walker (back) is out of the starting lineup again Monday against the Miami Marlins.
A back injury suffered earlier this month will keep Walker out for consecutive contests. He owns a massive .470 wOBA in August, so his absence hurts a club fighting for its playoff hopes. Walker, who is slashing .282/.347/.476 in 458 plate appearances this season, can be considered day-to-day for now.
Walker owns a .350 wOBA and 23 home runs this year, which is tied for his career high. We project him to hit four more taters and post a .765 OPS over the rest of the year.
