Alcides Escobar notches a homer, two RBI's as Royals top Marlins

Kansas City Royals shortstop Alcides Escobar had a home run, two RBI's and two runs scored on 2-for-4 hitting on Thursday as the Royals topped the Miami Marlins 5-2.

What It Means:

That was only the second home run since the All Star break for Escobar, though he has scored 17 runs and driven in 14 RBI's in that span (159 plate appearances).

As has been the case through most of his career, Escobar is having a rough year from the dish. He is slashing .263/.292/.331 with a .270 wOBA and .068 ISO through 551 plate appearances on the season.
