Mets' Jay Bruce (leg) leaves game Wednesday
New York Mets right fielder Jay Bruce left Wednesday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals with cramping in his left calf.
Bruce was lifted for pinch-runner Alejandro De Aza when he cramped up running the bases on a double in the second inning. It doesn't seem like anything serious, though, and you can expect Bruce to be back in the lineup very soon.
Bruce is having a solid year from the dish, slashing .248/.305/.512 with a .341 wOBA and a career-high .264 ISO through 488 plate appearances.
