Anthony Rizzo getting the day off as Cubs square off with San Diego
Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo is getting the day off Wednesday as the Cubs take on the San Diego Padres.
It's just a routine day of rest for Rizzo, and the Cubs will play Kris Bryant at first base, Jorge Soler in left field and Javier Baez at third base with Rizzo out.
Rizzo is having a huge year from the dish, slashing .298/.396/.560 with career-highs in wOBA (.400) and ISO (.263) through 536 plate appearances. He ranks ninth in the majors with a 3.30 nERD.
