Angels' Huston Street undergoes right knee surgery
Los Angeles Angels relief pitcher Huston Street underwent successful surgery on his right knee Wednesday.
"Just got out of surgery, still pretty loopy, but the doc said I should come back throwing 98, but it could have been 89," Street tweeted out from the hospital Wednesday morning. It was an arthroscopic procedure and fortunately not anything more involved. The 33-year-old right-hander is done for 2016, but he is fully expected to be 100 percent by next February for the start of spring training. Fernando Salas is currently handling closer duties for the Angels.
Street recorded a whopping 5.99 xFIP and career worsts in both strikeout percentage (13.3) and walk percentage (11.4) on the year. He's just a season removed from posting a 3.18 ERA in 62 1/3 innings.
