Mets place Jon Niese (knee) on disabled list
New York Mets pitcher Jon Niese has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a left knee injury.
What It Means:
Niese left Tuesday's start after recording only one out in the first inning. There is no word yet on how long the knee injury will keep him sidelined.
Niese has struggled this year, with a 5.50 ERA and 4.66 SIERA that are both his worst marks since his three-game rookie year in 2008.
