Rich Hill (blister) to make Dodgers debut Wednesday

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Rich Hill (blister) will start Wednesday's game against the San Francisco Giants.

What It Means:

A painful blister has kept Hill out for more than a month and now he is finally ready to make his debut for the Dodgers. Hill has pitched impressively when healthy this season, posting a sparkling 2.25 ERA in 76 innings (14 starts) for the Oakland Athletics. It was expected that Hill was going to take Ross Stripling's spot in the Dodgers' rotation, but with Scott Kazmir battling neck and back issues, it's possible Stripling sticks around.

Hill's 3.57 xFIP is more than a point higher than his ERA, but his 28.94 strikeout percentage is well above the league average of 20.99 percent. We project him to record a 3.40 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP over the rest of the year.
