Oakland Athletics designated hitter/first baseman Billy Butler was placed on the seven-day concussion disabled list.
Butler was involved in a physical altercation with teammate Danny Valencia over the weekend (reportedly over an endorsement deal), leading to concussion symptoms for the 30-year-old. Arismendy Alcantara is replacing him on the active roster. Manager David Frost said both Butler and Valencia were fined for the incident.
Butler is slashing .286/.338/.419 through 228 plate appearances on the season, with a .326 wOBA that represents his best clip since 2013.
