New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira is not in Monday's lineup versus the Seattle Mariners.
The youth movement continues on in New York. Tyler Austin is starting at first and hitting ninth against Seattle right-hander Cody Martin.
Teixeira has suffered from some severe regression this season, seeing his slash fall to .197/.285/.331 (344 plate appearances), after hitting .255/.357/.548 (462 plate appearances) last season during a 2015 campaign that earned him an All-Star bid. He slugged 31 jacks and 79 RBI's last year, but our models currently project him to finish 2016 with 14 homers and 40 RBI's.
