Boston's Eduardo Rodriguez scratched from his start Sunday

Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez (hamstring) has been scratched from his scheduled start on Sunday versus the Detroit Tigers.

What It Means:

Rodriguez was forced from his last start with a tight hamstring and it appears that he is not ready to pitch on Sunday, as he felt his hamstring tighten during his bullpen session. The Sox will recall Henry Owens from Triple-A to make the start Sunday, but Rodriguez is not expected to be placed on the disabled list.

Rodriguez has been scuffling lately and owns a 5.11 ERA and a 1.40 WHIP over 68 2/3 innings pitched this season. He also has a 20.41 strikeout rate and a 1.10 nERD on the season.
