Steven Wright (shoulder) unlikely to take mound for Red Sox Tuesday
Boston Red Sox pitcher Steven Wright (shoulder) will not rejoin the rotation on Tuesday as initially hoped.
Clay Buchholz will toe the rubber in place of Wright. The 31-year-old right-hander continues to progress with the shoulder injury, but the team wants him to throw another flat ground session this weekend, as opposed to a bullpen session.
Wright owns a 3.01 ERA and a 4.39 xFIP in 146 2/3 innings this season, to go with a 20.16 strikeout percentage (league average is 20.98 percent).
