Orioles' Matt Wieters expected to go on paternity leave

Baltimore Orioles catcher Matt Wieters is expected to go on paternity leave this weekend.

What It Means:

Wieters' wife is expected to give birth to the couples' second child any day now. It's believed that Wieters will leave the cub on Saturday and be away for one-to-three days. Caleb Joseph -- and his poor .213 wOBA this season -- will serve as the O's backstop during Wieters' absence.

Wieters has struggled at the plate this year, slashing .243/.298/.388 with 10 home runs and a career-low .296 wOBA in 332 plate appearances. We project him to hit three more taters and post a .716 OPS over the rest of the season.
