The Chicago Cubs placed outfielder Chris Coghlan on the 15-day disabled list with a right rib contusion.
Coghlan suffered the injury in a collision during the first game against the Milwaukee Brewers in Tuesday's doubleheader. There is no current timetable for his return, but this isn't exactly a killer blow to the Cubs beyond mere depth.
In 78 games, Coghlan was hitting just .165/.261/.288 this season with five home runs. Our algorithms project him for 79 more plate appearances with two home runs and a .681 OPS.
