Brett Gardner (ankle) back in action as Yankees take on Toronto
New York Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner (ankle) is back in the starting lineup Wednesday versus the Toronto Blue Jays.
Gardner will hold things down in left field for the Yankees after missing the past four games with a right ankle injury. He's hitting leadoff against Blue Jays southpaw J.A. Happ.
Gardner is slashing .263/.352/.379 across 457 appearances at the plate this season, while his .323 wOBA and .116 ISO are both below his career-averages.
