Matt Duffy (heel) out of Rays' lineup on Wednesday
Tampa Bay Rays infielder Matt Duffy (heel) is not in the starting lineup on Wednesday afternoon against the San Diego Padres.
Duffy was forced to leave Tuesday's contest with soreness in his left Achilles, which is a major concern for someone who was just on the shelf for eight weeks with a left Achilles strain. Tim Beckham will fill in at shortstop and hit eighth while Duffy hopes to avoid returning to the disabled list.
Duffy is hitting .261/.317/.359 with a .296 wOBA and .098 ISO in 305 plate appearances this season. He has 22 RBI's and eight stolen bases.
