Brett Anderson (wrist) given the green light, starting for Angels Saturday
Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Brett Anderson (wrist) has been cleared to start Saturday in Cincinnati against the Reds.
A sprained wrist forced Anderson out of his season debut Sunday against the Pittsburgh Pirates, but he played catch Tuesday without any setbacks. He was tagged for five scores on five hits and a walk in just one inning in that outing and probably isn't an ideal option this weekend for that road matchup in Cincinnati.
Anderson was solid in his first season with the Dodgers last year, posting a 3.46 SIERA in 31 starts. He finished 10-9 with a career-low 15.47 strikeout percentage across 180 1/3 innings of work.
