St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Seth Maness is scheduled to undergo Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery on Thursday.
Maness has been dealing with elbow issues all year, and now he can likely be ruled out for the entire 2017 season. The 27 year-old reliever has posted a 3.19 ERA in 237 1/3 career innings. This another significant loss for this beat up Cardinals team.
Maness had posted a 3.41 ERA, 4.15 xFIP and just an 11.94 strikeout percentage (league average is 20.98 percent) in 31 2/3 innings pitched this season.
