Minnesota Twins third baseman/outfielder Miguel Sano (elbow) is out of the starting lineup Tuesday against the Atlanta Braves.
Despite an MRI taken Monday that didn't show any structural damage, Sano is dealing with discomfort in his elbow. He can be considered day-to-day. With the game being played in Atlanta, there isn't a designated hitter available in this contest and Trevor Plouffe -- and his .285 wOBA this season -- will start at third base.
Sano owns a solid .355 wOBA and a 122 wRC+ this season (363 plate appearances), but these totals are down from .392 and 151, respectively, from a season ago (335 plate appearances). We currently project him to hit seven more taters and post a .835 OPS over the rest of the year.
