Brett Gardner (ankle) remains sidelined Monday for Yankees

New York Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner (ankle) is out again on Monday against the Toronto Blue Jays.

What It Means:

On Friday, Gardner fouled a ball off his ankle and was forced to miss the last two games. He apparently still isn't healthy enough to return to the lineup. Aaron Hicks -- and his .257 wOBA this season -- will get the start in left field and hit ninth on Monday.

Gardner is slashing .263/.352/.379 with a .323 wOBA across 457 plate appearances this season, to go with seven homers and 13 stolen bases. We project him to hit three more taters, steal seven more bases and post a .706 OPS in 171 appearances at the plate over the rest of the year.
