Cleveland Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis is not in the starting lineup Monday afternoon against the Boston Red Sox.
Kipnis recorded his 20th tater of the season on Sunday, and this is merely a routine day of rest. Michael Martinez will man second for Cleveland, while batting ninth versus southpaw Drew Pomeranz.
Kipnis is working with a .291/.352/.500 slash across 497 plate appearances this season, while recording a .362 wOBA that almost matches his career-best (.364 in 2011). He owns a 1.99 nERD.
