White Sox place Miguel Gonzalez (groin) on 15-day disabled list

The Chicago White Sox placed starting pitcher Miguel Gonzalez on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right groin.

What It Means:

Gonzalez was injured during Thursday's start. It's unclear at this point how long he'll be sidelined or who will replace him in the White Sox rotation.

To this point, Gonzalez has spun a 4.05 ERA, 4.54 SIERA, and 1.33 WHIP in 102 1/3 innings pitched in 2016. This goes along with a 17.93 percent strikeout rate and 7.59 percent walk rate. He's improved drastically since an ugly June that saw him put up a 5.86 ERA with an 11.67 percent walk rate.
