Braves' Erick Aybar homers, goes 3-for-5 on Thursday
Atlanta Braves shortstop Erick Aybar went 3-for-5 with a homer and a double on Thursday in a loss to the Milwaukee Brewers.
The performance pushed Aybar's OPS to over .600 for the first time this season (league average is currently .736). His home run was just his second in 354 plate appearances this year, but he's now hitting .318 with just six strikeouts in 94 plate appearances in the second half.
Despite the uptick in play post-All-Star break, Aybar owns just a .240/.293/.312 slash with a .262 wOBA in 354 plate appearances this season. He's also been caught stealing (five) more times than he's been successful (three). We project him to bat .245 with a .603 OPS over the rest of the year.
