Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun is getting the day off Thursday versus the Atlanta Braves.
It's a well deserved day off, as Braun has been on fire in August, hitting .367 (37 plate appearances) with 5 homers and 12 RBI's in just 8 contests. Kirk Nieuwenhuis will replace him in left field, while hitting fifth against Braves righty Roberto Hernandez.
In the second half of the season, Braun owns an impressive .375/.471/.667 slash, to go with an outrageous 1.138 OPS, .292 ISO and .467 wOBA in 87 plate appearances. He currently ranks 24th in the majors this season with a 2.67 nERD.
