Seattle Mariners pitcher Charlie Furbush will undergo surgery to repair a partially torn rotator cuff on Tuesday.
A bum left shoulder has kept Furbush out of action for the entire season. He won't be toeing the rubber any time soon, either, as the surgery is expected to put the 30-year-old southpaw on the shelf for the next 12-18 months.
For his career, Furbush owns a 3.58 xFIP, 1.19 WHIP and 24.52 strikeout percentage across 260 2/3 total innings.
