Dodgers' Bud Norris (back) to throw bullpen session Thursday
Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Bud Norris (back) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Thursday.
The Dodgers are hopeful that Norris will be ready to be activated from the 15-day disabled list on August 16, when he is first eligible, and that a rehab assignment in the minors won't be necessary. Norris strained his lat on July 31 while making a pickoff throw to first base. He owns a 4.26 ERA this season for the Dodgers and Atlanta Braves.
Norris owns a 3.98 xFIP in 99 1/3 innings for the season, and a 3.80 xFIP in 29 innings since being traded to Los Angeles. We project him to record a 4.62 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP over the rest of the year.
