Giancarlo Stanton (hip) sidelined Wednesday for Marlins
Miami Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton (hip) is out of the lineup on Wednesday against the San Francisco Giants.
Stanton was bothered by some minor hip soreness on Tuesday, causing him to take an early exit. He was already scheduled for a maintenance day Wednesday for the series finale against the Giants, so he'll look to get back out there on Friday to open the series with the Chicago White Sox. Ichiro Suzuki will bat sixth and man right for Miami on Wednesday.
Stanton has posted a .348 wOBA with a .243/.330/.493 slash in 422 appearances at the plate this season. He's tallied 24 home runs and 67 RBI's, while his .251 ISO is below his career average (.274).
