Marlins' A.J. Ramos to be placed on 15-day disabled list
Miami Marlins closer A.J. Ramos will be placed on the 15-day disabled list, Andy Slater of 940-AM WINZ reports.
Ramos will need an extended absence to deal with a jammed finger on his pitching hand. Fernando Rodney will likely continue filling in at closer for Miami after notching a save on Sunday versus the Colorado Rockies.
Ramos owns a 3.05 ERA and 29.02 strikeout percentage across 44 1/3 innings of work this season. Through 46 frames, Rodney has twirled a 2.35 ERA and 27.13 percent punchout rate for both the Marlins and San Diego Padres.
