Astros' Dallas Keuchel shuts down Rangers
Houston Astros starting pitcher Dallas Keuchel dominated the Texas Rangers on Friday, allowing only three hits in a complete game shutout.
Keuchel came back after a horrible start his last time out to strikeout seven batters and wal two on Friday night. He threw 111 pitches in his shutout performance and at least on Friday he looked like the Cy Young pitcher from 2015. His next start will be Wednesday against the Twins.
Keuchel lowered his ERA to 4.56 after Friday's start over 148 innings pitched this season. He owns a 20.29 strikeout rate, but both of those numbers are far from his 2.48 ERA and 23.70 K% last season. Our models project the former Cy Young winner will post a 3.61 ERA and 1.20 WHIP over 67 1/3 innings remaining this season.
