Athletics place Jed Lowrie (foot) on disabled list
Oakland Athletics infielder Jed Lowrie has been placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to August 4, with a bunion on his left foot.
If the foot requires surgery, then Lowrie will be done for the year. A decision hasn't been made on the matter, but it's been an issue for a while now. Max Muncy is expected to hold down second base for Oakland in the meantime.
Lowrie has posted a .282 wOBA and .263/.314/.322 slash with a career-low .059 ISO across 369 plate appearances this season.
