Mike Zunino is unquestioned starter for Mariners
Seattle Mariners catcher Mike Zunino has started 10 out of the last 13 games behind the plate.
Manager Scott Servais essentially confirmed what has become obvious over the last two weeks: Zunino has wrestled away the starting catcher job from Chris Iannetta. "We’re going to give Mike a chance to play," Servais said. "This year is about Mike Zunino and putting him in a good spot. Keeping him going. We’ve got to find out what we’ve got."
Zunino sports a .263/.391/.737 batting line with five homers over 46 plate appearances this season. He has a .459 wOBA that we project will drop closer to a .307 mark over 59 more plate appearances this year.
